Higher Education Business Continuity Network (HEBCoN-US)

“A peer-led, practitioner-focused community for business continuity professionals in higher education.”

What We Are

The Higher Education Business Continuity Network (HEBCoN) is a collaborative, practitioner-focused network for higher education professionals responsible for business continuity, continuity of operations, and operational resilience on their campus.

We provide a trusted space to discuss real-world challenges, best practices, and emerging trends in the world of continuity for colleges and universities; across academic, athletics, healthcare, research, and administrative operations.

Why This Network

Higher education institutions face unique continuity considerations distinct from other sectors, and there is no community in the United States specifically designed to support these practitioners. As continuity becomes more of a focal point, coordination and collaboration becomes more valuable than ever. This network is designed to support institution-level business continuity through peer collaboration, shared experience, and practical discussions.

How It Works

  • Quarterly virtual peer discussions
  • Practitioner-driven topics and problem-solving
  • Optional sharing of templates, tools, and lessons learned
  • Facilitating networking among industry leaders

While convened by The University of Texas at Austin, this group is meant to be holistic of all higher education in the US, not institution specific. This is a free, collaborative network meant to strengthen all our efforts to support our communities through continuity.
